D.I.Y. Pontoon Boat Kits
Under the brand name Aussie Pontoon Craft, a range of D.I.Y. Pontoon Boat kits designed by our leading Boat Builder George Hart who’s comments explaining the inspiration for the development of the D.I.Y. Pontoon Boat Kits, came from the many boating enthusiasts, which have been wanting to have ago at building their own Pontoon Boat but may lack the confidence and skills required in certain aspects of the build, but are capable of carrying out the remaining requirements involved to complete the build.
The methodology to cover such a wide array of skill sets used in the Pontoon Boat build, was to dissect the build into distinctive stages, with each of four separate stages having a specific skill set that will be require within that stage of the build. Therefor making the decision for the D.I.Y. Pontoon Boat Builder of what stages they are to undertake themselves a much simpler and straight forward process.
The kits come in two typical sizes, a 5.8 metre long by 2.25 metre wide and a 7.1 metre long by 2.4-metre-wide version, the 7.1 metre long by 2,4 metre wide also available in a Tri-tune style. Any sizes which are outside the two described above are a custom build and have been up to twelve metres long by 5.4 metres wide.
Stage 1 referred to as the starter kit consists of the Pontoon tubes or logs, a cross beam mounting system and the cross beams, a transom pod with engine mount and a stainless-steel fastener kit.
Stage 2. The aluminium decking and edge surround decking edge trim.
Stage 3. Deck railing around the perimeter of the decking.
Stage 4. Is the deck fit-out, from the navigation lighting, seats, helm, engine and all items above the deck.
